Residential Lodge
Dagdag, Sagada
Contact Person: Mary Daoas +639296257419 email: eldone21 [at] hotmail [dot] com
The lodge itself is relatively new. It has been open for business for less than two years but it has definitely become one of the more popular places to stay in Sagada. Mary Daoas, a retired school teacher, owns and manages her two-story lodge hands-on and you could almost always find her in the vicinity at any given time. When they say residential, they really mean it. You can invade the kitchen to cook your own food or even use the clothesline after washing your clothes. It really feels like living at home.
You could choose to stay in a room with a private toilet and bath or stay in a dormitory room next to a communal toilet and bath. Private rooms go for as low as 250 pesos a night while the dorm accommodation is slightly cheaper at 200.
There is a common area per floor where guests could watch TV or interact with other people staying in the lodge.

If you do choose to stay at Residential Lodge, kindly tell Tita Mary that the people from VisitSagada.com referred you.

Comment by gauk — March 7, 2008 @ 11:07 am
@gauk
Yes they accept reservation, kung sure na kayo sa Holy Week sked nyo, reserve ASAP, dahil peak season ang holy week, so ubusan talaga ng rooms sa Sagada. It would be best to call Residential Lodge now. Tell Tita Mary that you were referred by VisitSagada team.
Comment by Angel — March 7, 2008 @ 11:29 am
@Angel
I already spoke with Tita Mary, fully booked na daw
Comment by gauk — March 7, 2008 @ 11:37 am
@gauk
Whoa! Sorry for that! Anyway, you can try other guesthouse. Medyo late na din kasi, reservations for holy week should be placed as early as two months before.

You may try Traveler’s Inn or George Guest House. You may check the Visit Sagada entry about George.

Oo nga eh, biglaan lang kasi.
@Benj
Traveler’s Inn has not replied yet.
Salamat ng madami ha! Anlaking tulong.

Salamat ulit!

Based on Gareth’s post here, http://sagadagenuineguides.blogspot.com/, I guess it’s a decent enough place. My only concern would be the distance. It’s 1.2 kilometers away from the town center. Hmmm. Honestly, I’ve never seen this hotel but if you don’t mind walking for a few extra minutes, I dont see any problems.

I spoke with Tita Mary and she gave me a rate of P400.00 per night for room that is good for 2… I checked on the website and it says there that it ranges from P200.00 - P250.00.. Should I make a bargain with Tita Mary?
Comment by Jen — March 14, 2008 @ 10:08 pm
Hi Jen, the P200.00 to P250.00 range is per person/per night, so if you are two in a room, it sums up to P400.00 per room/per night.
Comment by Angel — March 14, 2008 @ 10:22 pm
Ok… so its P200.00 - P250.00 per head not per room… Gotcha… Thanks again..
Comment by Jen — March 14, 2008 @ 10:51 pm
Yep. No problemo

Hello, I was just browsing about Sagada nowadays and I found this site. OK, no worry I will try to promote your place for those people who happens to ask me on where to stay in Sagada.
Am surprised with all of these……. including the mouth-watering pies at the LEMON PIE HOUSE.
Comment by sam — March 22, 2008 @ 5:12 pm
Just got back from Sagada! Tita Mary had a vacant room for us.
Sagada’s great! A few bruises here and there but it was great! We also went to the soft launching of the Sagada Lemon Pie House. It was nice to just relax, have tea and listen to good music.

Comment by joyce — April 3, 2008 @ 1:48 pm
Hi Joyce. Go to the TRAVEL section of the site. If you can see the top of page (just below the banner), there’s button that says travel. Articles in that section would be helpful in letting you know which buses to take to get to Sagada via Baguio, Banaue, Bontoc etc.
For 4D/3N 4K would be more than enough.
Just bring your street smarts with you and you’ll be fine.

Hi, Silkylace. There is none. It’s geographically impossible to go to Sagada without passing through either Bontoc or Baguio.
Comment by Benj — April 19, 2008 @ 1:17 am
hows the road trip going there from Baguio or Nueva Viscaya? Planning to go there this May deciding on which vehicle to use depending on the people to tell me if its ok or rough ride.
Comment by alex — April 19, 2008 @ 11:11 am
Hi Alex, bring a 4×4 to be safe. My family brought an Isuzu Fuego back in our trip in the late 90s and it held up pretty well.
The road from Baguio to Sagada is better compared to the other route from Dalton Pass (Nueva Vizcaya).

GRABE!How can someone allow this ugly building to stand in the midst of such a heavenly place? There’s nothing wrong with erecting a building but it has to blend with the environment. Pretty soon, it will be like Baguio na concrete jungle. How I love Baguio. I was born and raised there, but pleeease, not another mistake! Spare the beautiful Sagada from the monstrosity of ugly concrete high-rise buildings. The government of Sagada should implement new area zoning, town planning & environment conservation that would protect the place. Town planners where are you????

just want to extend my appreciation to the people of sagada and to Tita Mary as well. Thanks to her hospitality and we enjoy our trip at sagada even if we didn’t experience any of the tours due to the heavy rain. See you again and we hope to experience all the tours when we get there for the second time. Thanks and God bless.

Is there a nice view at the Residential Lodge? I learned they have a roof deck. What is the view on top?
How would you rate residential lodge compared to Mapiya-aw pension?
Comment by Brenda — August 4, 2008 @ 5:22 pm
HI, we are a grp of 8 techers from st. francis academy of q.c. and we just got back from sagada. we stayed at the residential lodge were local coffee and mountain tea are available for free anytime and true enough tita mary is a very warm and accomadating person plus Divine the inn’s cook who would accomodate your request for special food. we took cable tours (via bontok)going there and will not recommend it the only good thing abt. this route is that you get to see banaue rice terraces. going back to mnl we took the via baguio route which is much comfortable and the view is also breathtaking. Sagada is for those who love nature and those who love adventure. sen alfonso/karla corpuz/leni trance/ella pelayo/mayline de la torre/rachel relucio

is it possible to bring a car or fx from baguio to sagada? hows the road condition?
Comment by jojo — September 3, 2008 @ 11:56 am
Hi Jojo! From a fellow traveller, i believe you’re better off taking the bus. sobrang nakakapagod ang drive papuntang sagada. upon entering Mountain Province, more than 50% of the road is still yet to be finished (not sure if the construction is already done). Pero, probably Benj and the others would know better.
Comment by jools — September 6, 2008 @ 4:42 pm
Hi All, I also went there last May of 2008 w/ a friend.. and it was soooo beautiful, amazing and totally breathtaking experience.. I love every details of that place.. We’re planning to go back in Sagada next year probably Feb or March..

Maraming salamat!
Comment by Alex — October 13, 2008 @ 12:36 pm
Hi Alex! Yong room namin has a 2 doublle-size beds with Toilet & Bath at 250/day/pax. Yong iba yata e 200/day/pax pero common ang CR.

Just got home from Manila for 3 days trip from Sagada… Wonderful experience and exhilirating trips. Medyo nakakatakot ng konti (mga bangin, foggy way and heights) but enjoyable so far ang trip on the way. We been at Residential Lodge as per suggestion / recommendation of this website… so very useful and thanks for the info.
As they say it… Tita Mary was so accomodating and you feel at home. So kind talaga even ang students may discount pa :D, but we don’t take it kasi sulit naman ang services.
Medyo na badtrip lang sa pauwi as we riding at the bus, may nagtatapon overboard ng mumunting basura… Sagada is beautiful place that needs no place for garbage. Conserve po natin ‘to, its so nice to be there once… and again!
