Since the genesis of the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration, holidays that were supposed to be celebrated during the middle of the week have been “moved” to a Monday or Friday to create a string of three non-working days. This is an effort to encourage local tourism and give people ample time to spend with their friends and families.
While a three-day itinerary is ideal, one could still enjoy the wonders of Sagada in two days.
Here’s a list of national non-working a holidays in the Philippines:
January 1 - New Year’s Day (usually not moved)
April 9 - Araw ng Kagitingan (usually moved to the nearest Monday BEFORE the 9th)
Holy Week (Maundy Thursday and Good Friday) - as observed by the Catholic Church
June 12- Independence Day (usually moved to nearest Monday BEFORE the 12th)
August 21- Ninoy Aquino Day
December 24, 25 - Christmas
December 31 - New Year’s Eve
The celebration of Eidl Fitr (the end of the Rammadan) is also observed nationwide.

Hello!
We were in Sagada during the long weekend (June 7-9), and we stayed at Residential Lodge. I kinda overheard that Benj was there too at that time. Our room, Lusban, is right next to the common room at the 3rd floor and since it’s so quiet in Sagada we can overhear people’s conversations right in our room.
Anyhow, I didn’t get the chance to say that your site is very helpful and i would have wanted to thank Benj personally. We were just too tired to socialize (we’ve been to sumaging cave sat night, june 7).
So here na lang.. Thanks to the whole visitsagada.com team!
you’re making a lot of Sagada travelers’ lives much much easier. Keep it up!

Hi! Your site is helpful. I have been visiting it for the past few weeks now. I will be in sagada on June 19 til JUne 22. I already reserved a room in residential lodge. I will be leaving manila at 5 am to Baguio then catch the last 1 pm trip to sagada. Is that okay? This is my first time in going to sagada and I’m all by myself. Is is safe? I’m so excited.
Can you please give me tips. Your help is very much appreciated;-)…
I want to join a group tour. It is much exciting, I think. Is there a group of people going there next week? Thanks
Amy;-)
