A visit to Sagada will not be complete without having a serving of yoghurt from where else – Yoghurt House! This place has long been a tourist-favorite mainly due to its great bohemian ambiance and of course, large servings of great tasting food.

Yoghurt House is just about a five-minute walk downhill from the town hall and bus station. They open at 7am and has a very filling and inviting breakfast menu that could definitely prepare you for the activities you have planned for the rest of the day.

Yoghurt House’s interiors are cozy and despite its small size, the space could still accommodate twenty-five people. Having that many people in such a packed area does make the place conducive for talking to other travelers and backpackers. Many people have made friends, split tour fees and even switched hotels thanks to people they’ve met through eating at Yoghurt House.

Visit Sagada recommends the Hiker’s Delight from the breakfast menu. It’s a crepe with a banana smothered with a generous amount of home-made yoghurt topped with strawberry preserves. It also comes with a piece of toast, two eggs cooked to your liking and coffee or tea. Yoghurt House serves breakfast til 10 AM. The meal might be a bit steep at 140 Php (~3.50 USD) but it’s very much worth it.

They run out of yoghurt some times but it’s good yoghurt so come back the next day or a bit later for your fix.

@Fritz:
I guess they’re better prepared now. I haven’t had the experience of running out of yoghurt. Hehe

the food is great indeed, the problem though is the staffs demeanor… one example, there was no beer that was served during that day yet it is still in the menu, the worst thing was that the waitress even asked us to just tell the management why.. i mean, customers always right, Right? and how about ordering a Java rice, instead they served us Java chicken Rice, I mean is there something wrong with the spelling or to the pronunciation. we ended up paying for something we havent ordered… sayang ang great Food.

hows the road getting to sagada from nueva viscaya? planning on going there this may but deciding which vehicle to bring depending on the roughness of the trip.
Comment by shirley — April 19, 2008 @ 11:06 am
Sorry to hear that Richard.
Shirley, I think you’d go via Dalton Pass. Take a 4×4 to be safe.
Comment by Benj — April 20, 2008 @ 6:57 pm
hi! i would really, really like to see sagada! but budget is too tight. i wanna bring my husband and 2 kids with me. how much should i spend for a 4 day stay?????
Comment by helen — April 28, 2008 @ 7:44 am
Shirley … I suggest going to Baguio then take the bus to Sagada if it is just Sagada you are interested in. Looong travel time from Sagada to Bontoc (1 hour) then from Bontoc to Manila (12 hours) via Nueva Vizcaya. Via Halsema Highway from Baguio, it will just be 5 hours.

We love Yoghurt House. Just be sure to order one cup of yoghurt for 3. It is really a big serving.

I’ve tried their Chicken and Pasta. It was actually good, just a little too expensive. I’ve also tried their Chicken with Sweet Sauce (forget how it was called) never liked it. Tried their Banana and Granola Yoghurt. It was delicious. The crew weren’t that warm though.
Comment by Laurence Nichol — May 6, 2008 @ 4:06 pm
I agree with Laurence on the crew – they are not warm. I ordered Pasta dish with vegetables and loved it! The banana yogurt has only few slices of banana but it still tasted good. The Baked Chicken with Toast and Pasta was worth its price, only that the chicken needs a little marinating.

Well… I thought “service” will be changed sa Yoghurt House…
I did not re-acted before… nung last visit ko nung Dec 2007. This second time na punta ko ng Sagada May 1-4, my friends go there to eat hinde na ko sumama kasi I don’t like the service. But I just dropped by there to talk to them for a while… pag pasok ko dun… hinde ko sinasadya natabig ko yung spoon nung waitress nung pag-open ko ng door… Aba! ang sama ng tingin sa kin, tiger look! Buti na lang hinde ako war freak that time… hehe
Buti na lang malamig sa Sagada…

ano ba yan, puro ata negative feedback ang nababasa kong comments sa yoghurt house. parang nakakadiscourage naman, kahit i-try lang, parang ayaw ko na rin tuloy. are they even seeing all these comments?
Comment by dino — May 23, 2008 @ 3:44 am
To be fair to Yoghurt House, I never had any bad experiences in the restaurant – just the occasional WTF THE SERVING IS THIS BIG?! moments.
Comment by Benj — May 23, 2008 @ 1:41 pm
I definitely agree with all those who commented negatively about the staff’s attitude. The food was great, no doubt about it. But if they don’t improve on their service, they’ll lose a lot of customers.
The members of the staff were not only the ones at fault. Actually, the owner herself was so “antipatika” to our group when we had our dinner there last April 14 this year. My friend just asked if the tuna mentioned in the menu is fresh or canned since it was not specified. The owner gave my friend a scowl & sarcastically said “this is Mt. Province..there’s no fish in Mt.Province!” Does she have to be rude to her fellow Filipinos? She can inform her in a nice way..like for instance, “we don’t have fresh fish now, we serve tuna from a can”. I also had a long time deciding what to order among the yoghurt flavors. She heaved a sigh, gave me a frown & replied in her acerbic tongue without patience.
The next day we had our lunch at Bana’s Cafe. Lo & behold! There’s fish in Mt. Province. We had fresh fish for lunch & the crew was so accommodating & warm to us. We will surely go back to Bana’s Café next time. As for the Yoghurt House, even if I think about their delicious food, I’m not enticed to go back because of the owner’s rude attitude to us. Hope she’ll change her ways.

Comment ko po sa bad service na experience nyo….been to Sagada so many times i cant even count how many times but i’ve never seen that bad service at Yoghurt House. What i usually see are highly urban characters (local tourists) that usually thinks that they should be served as to their liking. Since i get to go there very often i feel that the comfort of all we have here in Manila does not apply in Sagada. From what i heard, tourism is not their major priority since this usually disturb their quiet haven. Most foreigners are there to eat and dont even bother to comment on the resto’s lapses, maybe bcoz you can actually see that they are understaffed.
BEING A TOURIST MOST OF THE TIME, I LEARNED THAT BEING ONE SHOULD BE, BEING ONE OF THEM AND WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN DOESNT REALLY MATTER AT ALL.
Comment by Anna A. — June 2, 2008 @ 8:30 am
anna a,
you hit it right.
local tourists are actually being frowned upon by the business people, that is because they expect too much and demand sooo much. SAGADA stayed like it was before and loved as is by foreign and local backpackers. SAGADA is not going to change adversely for everyone’s satisfaction. Though there are new establishments that are adjusting to these new market.
Yughurt haws caters more to the foreign clientele and can survive without the local toorich moolah.

Anitpatika talaga yung taga yoghurt house, anna a. Iam an Igorot just like the peopel in sagada pero i have never experienced sa ibang place asa Sagada nag na experience ko sa Yoghurt house. I went there for 8 times already ganun parin yung tauhan sa Yoguhrt house walang galang. Sa ibang reto like Marferree mabait sila and very warm…

oh…how sad…we’re planning to visit sagada next week and just reading about the poor service in yoghurt house makes me think twice if we should go there…sayang naman the food looks promising but with bad customer service reputation, i’m not really sure though if it’s all worth it…ganun pa din ba?

the yoghurt house and all the establiments’ primary targets in sagada are the tourists. so if they give really bad service, most likely, people will stop eating there. kahit anong sarap ng pagkain, kung puro mga nakasimangot ang nasa paligid mo, nakakawalang ganang kumain. so the yoghurt house has to improve with their people skills before it’s too late. miss ko pa naman yung banana/strawberry/granola yoghurt nila.

oi oi oi! anong kaguluhan to? puntahan na lang natin ang sagada, wag na tayo magfocus sa mga bad side na yan. baka pagod na din ang staff. as travelers, tayo dapat ang nag-aadjust. sino pupunta dun at the end of the month? hati tayo sa tour expenses? *wink*wink*

I’m back from sagada and it was really glorious! rough road, very looong trip…so worth it! nothing beats good food, good company, nice place…i live to breathe in sagada. and as promised, we visited yoghurt house…TWICE! the price=practical, big serving=good for two…and just to be fair, the people there weren’t rude to us or anything close to it…they were just really quiet…but our experience there was nice…it just fits perfectly in our 3D/2N stay…wish we could stay longer, Sagada is just really amazing…nice to wake up with that kind of view and weather…haaaay
P.S. love youghurt house’s roasted eggplant with basil pasta…nice

I’ve been to Yoghurt many times and I believe me their food were great and I just wanna go back there just to feed my hunger….The staff are accomodating and kind,,,I believe one wound not act in a rude way if your act is not…..we know all the “Do unto others what you want others do to You!” or maybe thats what we call personal difference and culture shock….so just dont be too much judgemental and bias….just go and eat and mind your own business and the world will be happy to live in! Advance Merry Christmas to all…Prices varies so just go and eat.

I DO AGREE WITH THE POSITIVE COMMENTS ABOUT YOGURT HOUSE COZ THE FOODS ARE GREAT AND THE STAFF ARE NICE, AS THE GOLDEN RULES SAY”DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT U WANT OTHERS DO UNTO YOU” SO THOSE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING BAD MEMORIES YOU ARE THAT DEMANDING AND BAD GUYS,IT IS SEEN ON HOW U COMMENT ON OTHERS BEHAVIOR WITHOUT SEEING URSELF……. YOGURT HOUSE IS A NICE PLACE TO TRY WHEN COMING AT SAGADA! JUST COME AND TRY!

For those who are commentng negatively about Y.house, please stay in Sagada for a while so you would know why you are very wrong at how you reacted previously. People in Sagada are not used to how we do it in Manila, well i think not only in Sagada, i think this applies to other places too. When in Sagada, do what the Sagadians do.
Comment by Anna A. — October 28, 2008 @ 10:33 am
let’s just admit it, there is no more room for improvement for yoghurt house. even people from there do not admit that they are lacking something. the thing is, 50% of all these comments are quite negative. it’s really bad for the business. customer makes the business run. you give bad service and less people will go there. anna, just be nice to your customers, okay?

Having yoghurt in YH is one of the things that I look forward to the most whenever I go to Sagada. The staff is also quite nice and accommodating. We requested for breakfast during dinner service and they were more than willing to honor our special request. :p

Just got back last night from Sagada. When I read the negative comments about Yoghurt house, my friends and I got curious and decided to have one of our meals there… that was a late lunch after a trek to the big falls. Tired, cold (it was drizzling in Sagada for the most part of the day), and hungry, we ordered for the set meal for 4, costing 1.1k. We tried to keep mum as much as possible, asking no questions, avoiding not to offend them, kasi nga suplado “daw” sila sa mga locals, lalo na pag dami tanong. Aba, nakarinig pa kami from the male attendant. Something to the effect na he was asking us but we didn’t answer outright. Eh di siya narinig eh! Kainit ng ulo! Pero okay lang kung masarap food…wait, the soup tasted yummy, kasi gutom kami hehehe, but come chopsuey at baked chix, both were a disappointment. Wala sahog chopsuey, pinalasa lang ng cubes or vetsin siguro, baked chixtuyot…mukhang matagal na frozen and tasted dry, rubbery. Worst, puro puwet ng chix ang part na ni-serve. Fruit yoghurt..hmmm..perfect with banana, mapait ung apple na kasama. But the mashed potato was a real treat. Masarap! So that’s our experience! Soup and mashed potato for 1.1k. Paglabas namin, wala ka maririnig na thank you…dedma. Ok, fine. Sana mabasa ng mga taga Yoghurt House ito or i-relay ng administator, and Mgt start improving on service to the locals. Kung hinde, little by little, mawawalan sila ng customer na di nila mamamalayan, kasi ung “delicious food advantage” nila, nawawala na din. I will never eat there again. Try nyo na lang Cafe St. Joe, sa St. Joseph’s Inn. Nice ambiance, setting, and cheap.

ola Mr. Dennis A..! your comment ” let’s just admit it, there is no more room for improvement for yoghurt house. even people from there do not admit that they are lacking somet.” sounds not so good! You know Mr. Avellano that speaks for yourself too, its just like telling yourself you cant improve if you have to. I mean, in this life there is no permanent everyone changes and that I believe those people at Yoghurt house want their business to grow to and improve. Why not you tell them on their faces their mistake that you observed because I doubt they have time to browse the internet in their busy schedule and simple lifestyle. Have a try!
P.S. Proverbs: 14″Bad, bad,” says the buyer,

Matthew – I understand that your even quoting the bible… hehehe…. Bro I believe that you dont really understand our culture…. The truth is its only in Yogurt house that i have been or we have been treated so bad… The service is so awe-full that I recommend for a closure of the establishment or changing the staffs. The food is great but the service is really bad… Iam also an Igorot and I dont want to put Sagada down its just this one establishment that I really feel bad….. I just hope that you understand if there will be no change in their attitudes Sagada will surely be affected. The tourists will always have this comment. sorry you also have to consider our suggestions. And please quit on quoting the bible for this is just a complete manipulation of God’s word…. and dont use the word of God to shut up the people who wants to comment….. For the Record Sagada is a beautiful place a place that I wish can be preserved forever… But please improve Yogurt House….. Thank…… Tita Mary of Residential Lodge and Lemon Pie House you guys are the treasures of Sagada……

Help them help themselves or in a way you shoud get their feedback in all these comments because we are just hearing the otherside and im sure their is the another side also,,,am I right? just try to talk with the owner or the staff tell them to leave a comment here so that in a way to be fair with them we will hear their side. They have the business permit so for sure we cant tell them to close.

Ian,
Been to Sagada so many times and never miss to visit Yoghurt House…maybe you should try other restos if you really dont like YH’s service…you like their food admit it…know what? you have no right to suggest anything, especially in SAGADA…it is their place, they can do whatever they want even rejecting you as their customer…JUST DONT GO THERE AND THEN RUIN THEIR NAME…OR Maybe you should not go to Sagada anymore, just a suggestion. Napunta lang kayo sa Sagada, you think you have all the right to suggest and do such negative comments. Remember Sagada did not invite you, you invited yourselves. YH can either please you or piss you off, but believe me they really dont mind what you really think of them, SO JUST S..T-UP.

Hi. I’ve read all the reviews and comments.
I’m going to Sagada on May 1 and will be observant on YH’s services. Despite of the negative reviews, YES, I would still try the infamous good food at Yoghurt House. With a single order that can be shared by 2 people, I guess the price is pretty reasonable.
Anna, I read your comments on Ian’s responses as well. He’s not the only one who’s got issues with YH. Shouldn’t we let people air out their concerns about the Yoghurt House?
How many “Ians” do we have on this site? How many “Annas” do we have on this site? Don’t you think that if there’s a big percentage of “Ians”, concerns like his would really have a negative impact on YH? Haven’t you read the comments of the would-be Sagada tourists that some are having doubts about going to the place? Shouldn’t that be alarming for the business owner? For every person doubting to dine at YH is an opportunity loss for YH. Tourists are the bread and butter of YH, whether local or foreign.
I guess that’s why there’s this site. Aside from good food, the next best thing any service industry should develop is a very good customer service. So whether negative or positive, YH should ponder on the issues directed at them and the management should be very observant. It’s for their business anyway. I haven’t heard any restaurant that last for a long period of time solely because of good food while services like staff demeanor, cleanliness and other stuff are being neglected.
I have not come to a conclusion yet if I should recommend YH. Wala lang … I was just making a point that we should be open-minded.

Hello everyone! I wanna join the show! charing…haha….I find Yoghurt House the best resto I’ve visited in Sagada…They have a small place to dine just beside the road, but inside its a homey place to eat and just relax. For all your comments out there indeed this is a democrtic country so just tell the world what you think of them.. For me i think they are all nice and accomodating, Maybe lets just understand the world their is hatred their is love but i believe when we see things with love all this things would be corrected in their right ways.. Good you told the owner their so called bad attitude. Pray for them to change and your heart to be changed too! A better days awaits to Yoghurt house for sure! For all tourists like me I recommend the place. Just go taste their savory food you will forget all writtern in this blog!!
Comment by Trina — April 22, 2009 @ 9:40 am
Very good comment Gina Tan, and very well said. Personally, I never had any bad experience so far sa Yoghurt House (siguro kasi lagi akong pumupunta ng hindi peak season). I’ve never seen any major changes sa kanilang service. I’ve been there twice I guess, plus nung one time na nag-take out ako ng yoghurt, pero wala naman akong traumatic experience.
I guess my only advice to YH is that there should be a consistency sa kanilang customer service. People here wouldn’t be giving those negative comments kung hindi naman talaga siguro nangyari sa kanila yun. And if the people of YH are not using the internet, maybe Anna should bring this to their attention. Baka mabilis pa sa alas-kwatro ang kanilang response.
More power to Yoghurt House.

I had no bad experience so to speak in Yohgurt house, the guy served the food and we ate full and enjoy the simple healthy food, thats it,, Sagada indeed is a resting place we should visit often.
Comment by Kashmir — April 22, 2009 @ 2:12 pm
We were supposed to have a dinner at Yoghurt House last Aprii 19.
The place is full, so the guy behind the counter told us that it is not possible to serve us.
So we asked if we could order Yogurt for take out which they obliged.
However, they told us to wait outside because the place is full.
We ordered three Banana Granola which is 225 pesos.
Gave him 250. After a while, he came out with the cups of Yogurt, but no change.
So I entered the establishment and asked for the change. To my surprise, they guy told me that our order is 85 pesos each and we still owe 5 pesos.
We told him that we ordered Banana Granola and not the Banana Granola with strawberry preserve.
The guy returned the 25 peso change and told us that they gave us banana granola strawberry.
So, in short we got a 30 peso discount for the item which we didnt order.
A mixture of good and bad experience I guess.

We just came back from Sagada. It was our first time to try Yoghurt house. Well, it was a really good experience. Food was great! Servings vis-a-vis the price is really reasonable. I really love their yoghurt!!!
hehe More power!

Well anna A. its not that I dont like the food ang ayoko ay service nila.. Anna A. I know I might not be welcomed pero think about it sa mga sinabi mo baka lalo pang maubusan ng tao dun. sagada is beautiful the people are very warm I went to lemon pie house pero ang ganda ng pagrecieve nila sa amin… Anna A. I dont own anything there Iam very thankful sa mga tao duon dahil they have preserved God’s creation…. Pero admit it business is business kahit paanong gawin mo if its a resto at di maayos ang service you will hear peoples comment at wala ka rin namang magagawa kung gusto naming sabihin ang sa tingin naming tama. Your advertisement and PR is sobrang lame at walang kakapuntahan. Pagbabago ang kaylangan sa ganyang klase ng walang kakwenta kwentang argument na mo……. magbago ate…..

When we ate their just this weekend its full of foreigners that was an evening so i believe their service is fairly good and their food was great indeed! Thanks to the well accomodated evening!

Actually Ian, i really think you will not understand what i am really trying to say coz you really dont know how it is in Sagada….yes, i know how to make business coz i have one in Manila…and what you are trying to tell me about business especially the advertising is really really true…it does not apply in Sagada, YH has been in business for so long and has never mind what people are trying to tell when it comes to running their business…they dont need someone to build up YH, cguro etong gnagawa ntin nabubuild-up din sila in a way…pagbabago ba suggestion mo?….well it doesn’t apply in Sagada especially when visitors are trying to tell them what they should do and what they should be…When you are in Sagada do what the Sagadians do, you dont live there anyway and it would not harm them too if people like you are talking bad about them…
THEY REALLY DON’T MIND WHAT YOU THINK OF THEM…IF YOU LIKE THEIR FOOD JUST GO THERE AND EAT…
Comment by Anna A. — June 5, 2009 @ 8:12 am
to anna and ian suggestion lang a magdate kaya kayong dalawa sa yoghurt house and talk to the owner and tell them all what you wanna tell that the world knows and they dont know…kasi wala talaga silang pakialam kung ano man mga nakasulat dito kasi as a sagadian so to speak we live a very simple life. Para sana naman magkaayos din kayo and then we all live happy ever after.. mind to have a date and win a friend hehe..just suggesting lang naman…

Anna, What is the name of you business in Manila and where is it located? Who is managing it and who should we look for? So we can visit it and maybe do an evaluation of your business. Thank you very much.
Comment by Larry Jocson — June 6, 2009 @ 2:18 am
To Anna A.
May I know the complete name and address of your business in Manila so we can visit it and do an evaluation of it? We would like to check it so we can prove that what people here were false. Thank you and hope to meet you in person.
Comment by Larry Jocson — June 6, 2009 @ 3:08 am
Oo nga, magkaalaman na kung sino talaga ang magaling at kung sino ang dapat magbago. Meron ka nga ba talagang business sa Manila Anna A.? Baka naman yung business mo eh 5-minute walk from the Sagada Municipal Hall. Hihihi.
Ako rin, merong di magandang experience sa Yoghurt House na yan noh. Pag nagkuwento pa ako, eh dadami pa lalo ang negative comments nyo. At we’re not only paying you Anna A. to give us good food. You’re paid to smile and be nice to your customers. KAMI ANG BUMUBUHAY SA INYO for crying out loud. And if you will say rude words like “THEY REALLY DON’T MIND WHAT YOU THINK OF THEM,” then mag-isip isip ka dahil WALA KANG UTANG NA LOOB SA AMING MGA CUSTOMERS NYO. Kung maraming hindi satisfied na tourists, at kung pati taga Sagada eh hindi natutuwa sa serbisyo nyo, I would say na tama si Ian. That it’s time for you to consider closure or a change of management.
Comment by Letty Papaya — June 8, 2009 @ 4:35 pm
Hi Letty & Larry,
Please read again my previous comment…and try to dig in what i was trying to say….Evaluation ka dyan…of course you will not say anything good about my business kc negative na talaga kyo sa akin…well bakit ba ako magsasayang ng effort mag-explain sa inyo…d nman kyo tumira sa Sagada….hehehe……at ung utang na loob na sinasabi nyo…matagal nang may YH bgo pa kyo nkarating sa Sagada and they dont owe you anything….para sa Sagada, guests only ruin what they are trying to preserve, ung nature..kya they dont really care about what you (guests) are telling them to do….walang magsasabi ng negative about anybody or any establishment in Sagada na from Sagada…kaya kyo lang un and bcoz d kyo tga Sagada….
Comment by Anna A. — June 9, 2009 @ 12:51 pm
Anna A., My intention in visiting your business in Manila is good. Now, if you will take that as a bad gesture, ikaw ang bahala. Maybe you don’t really have a business in Manila and if you don’t, then that makes you the biggest fattest liar in the world, pretending to be somebody eh taga Yoghurt House ka rin naman pala.
And if you will keep on acting like that, then I think na ikaw yung waitress sa YH na napakapangit ng service, bastos, at masamang makatingin sa asawa ko at anak ko. Meron sigurong customers sa YH pero I’m sure most of them are new tourist that haven’t experienced their worst nightmare in your restaurant. Most of them don’t come back. So Anna, I will personally look for you in YH, and if that happens, I will B#@CH SLAP you in the face para magising ka sa mga pinagsasabi mo (“They don’t owe you anything”). And FYI, walang taga Sagada ang kumakain daw sa YH. Puro turista. Kung meron man, libre lang ng turista. Kaya get yourself a good book and learn some manners. Krema de Fruta ka.
Comment by Larry Jocson — June 9, 2009 @ 11:01 pm
for YH sake u know guys out there with many comments see yourself where those comments come from and then judge YH dat it has a bad service and soso ponder that!.. oh come on in every restaurant we enter or establishment theres not a perfect thing here on earth only in heaven i believe. Just go there and eat and if you dont like their service dont go thats it. Shalom!
Comment by mafel — June 10, 2009 @ 8:57 am
Mr. Larry Jocson,
Bakit highblood ka? Slap me in the face?
Look who’s talking, it’s you who needs a very very good book ABOUT GOOD MANNERS…BARNEY HAS A VIDEO OF GOOD MANNERS TOO…PANOORIN MO NA LANG KAYA….uulitin ko uli yung point ko mula noon gang ngayon para kasing hindi mo masyadong gets….
YOUR BAD COMMENTS ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO ANYBODY IN SAGADA, ESPECIALLY TO YH….YOU HAVE SAID YOUR COMMENTS (BAD NGA LANG)…WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS “JUST DONT TELL THEM WHAT TO DO” AS SIMPLE AS THAT and leave your bad manners where you came from….ooopppsss…..Sorry di ako marunong ng bad words…hahaha….God bless!
Comment by Anna A. — June 10, 2009 @ 2:48 pm
Oopps, ceasefire people!
If you do like YH, then patronize it, if not, then don’t. The last time I checked, we are still a democratic nation. Basta ako, I’ve been to Sagada a lot of times, and every time I visit the place, I don’t fail to visit YH also. And as far as I know, locals don’t eat there, but they buy and take it home. Parati kasing puno. Hehehe!

Hi, I stayed in Sagada for a year and I know the family who owns and runs Yoghurt House. They’re incredibly nice people, and in regards to the negative comments about the service, fair enough. Yes, tourist season can be stressful for them (it is widely known that in peak season the town literally runs out of food) but it is also true and I have seen it happen that some local tourists do treat them as their maids- hence the testy mood. One great thing they have taught me as a Filipino is to always regard myself and my fellow human being as an equal, and nobody is a servant no matter how much you pay them.
To all the peeps going up there, consider yourself lucky that we have such a place in the Philippines where people still have their dignity untouched by colonization, and yes, the place is one of the most beautiful in whole world- ask the foreign tourists, they’ll tell you so:)
Regards to the Daoases by the way and hugs to Ate Lucia and Kuya Leo and the kids, to the Cadiogans- Aling E we miss you!!!:)

I love Yoghurt house in Sagada. I just love the great food, the handsome and beautiful employees and the kind owner lady which I had the chance to talk to. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow their business and that I recommend their small but accomodating place to dine in with. Keep up the good service…To Sagada its a very beautiful place. I’ll be back again..

“Great restaurants are, of course, nothing but mouth-brothels. There is no point in going to them if one intends to keep one’s belt buckled.”

Oh I enjoyed their food with the strawberry yoghurt. I ate with my girl here and they served a good boutiful food. Thank you for the good food.

Hi, everyone. I’ve been browsing through this forum and couldn’t help but join in the fray. Well, not exactly. Couldn’t keep my big mouth shut and hope this would be an objective comment on what I’ve been reading about YH.
Anna, have read your comments and I tend to disagree with you that people should just avoid going to YH if the service is bad and that they should accept the way the staff treat the customers. Sagada is a tourist area and the tourism industry requires hospitality (that’s why it’s also called hospitality industry). I believe people in this kind of job need not be subservient (in fact, they shouldn’t) but they should at least show some friendliness. To turn your argument around, if YH cannot accommodate the guests (since they resent them), then they might as well shut down and engage in other kinds of business that don’t require customer service. I’m not singling them out as I have yet to experience going to Sagada, though I’ve traveled to other places for my holidays. Most people travel because they want to experience the culture and de-stress from their hectic life. Now, if they encounter hostility or ill treatment, I’m sure they’ll only feel frustration and anger. Just my ten cents’ worth.
BTW, my friends (who are all foreigners) and I are planning to go to Sagada this August. Hence, been browsing through this site. Don’t worry, will be trying YH. I absolutely adore yogurt and judging from the feedback, YH’s is a strong contender for the best in the country, if not in Asia.

Yoghurt House serves the best veggies and pasta. I didn’t stay long enough in Sagada to try the rest of their food but I bet you they’re just as delish as everything else. Not to mention their yummy home made yoghurt.
Forget about the negative comments. Perhaps the staff was having a bad day. Cut them some slack, we all have problems.
Focus on the FOOOODDDD and that won’t disappoint you.

Just got back from a 5 day trip at Sagada. The adventure was wild and rough for a person like me. Nevertheless, it was an unforgettable and an excellent experience for me. I haven’t tried the food at Yoghurt House. I almost ate there, however, the place was eerie last week. They don’t turn on the lights and the place was very very quiet. We ended up eating at Francis. The food there was okay. But Dalikan was way way better than Francis – taste and cleanliness.
