Sagada is not just about trekking, spelunking nor nature tripping, since this town is blessed with a lot of cliffs and rock formations, it can boast of being one of the very few Philippine destinations that offer natural rock climbing, thus making it a haven for adventure seekers.
Rock climbing is quite a young sport in the country. With commercial rock climbing sites in the Philippines less than the fingers in our hands, Sagada being a remote town should be proud having this in itineraries of must-do things here. It was introduced by some foreign tourists to local guides, and they now offer it commercially. Just like wall climbing, one should always have have a three-point-contact, meaning, using your two hands and two feet, you have to keep three of those four in contact with the wall at any given time. A small mistake will definitely draw bruises to the climber.
The site is located near Echo Valley. It only costs P250 (~6 USD) per person inclusive of all gears and guide fee with no time limit. The cliff is aroud 40ft high with easy and difficult climbing trail and one needs to rappel to go down
